Company Background

Dovetail Software, Inc. was incorporated in 1992 in the state of Colorado as a sub-chapter S corporation. Our mission is to help our clients specify, architect, design and build software components and applications. Our goals in this mission are on time and budget performance.

Company History

Our initial product was the Dovetail Help System 1.0, which progressed to release 3.4. In early 1994 we introduced a family of products under the family name Dovetail Advantage. All of our products were designed to augment the development of XVT based software applications. In mid 1994, a version of our flagship Dovetail Help System (3.1) was introduced that enabled both XVT and native programs written for WINDOWS, Motif and OS/2 PM to use a single common help interface for both help files and application programs. The Dovetail Advantage product family was sold to XVT in 1997.

Since 1997 we have provided contracting and consulting services. Our team has provided quality and timely consulting to Fortune 500, governmental and smaller organizations. Systems and application development services, with an emphasis on complex data-driven distributed systems, is our specialty.

Company Personnel

Dovetail president, Tim Beres, began (software) life as a UNIX kernel and high performance graphics sub-system developer. He has extensive experience with Java, MFC, XVT and native GUI toolkits running on UNIX/Linux and Windows platforms.
